the form that earned her a place as the only female member of Mason’s varsity
golf team which is heading into next Tuesday’s district tournament with
a chance to be the first team in Mason’s history to bring home a district
championship. Led by the performances of senior Joe Mauro and junior Dan
McDonald, the team has only lost to AA Dominion High School and Rappahannock.
In districts, five teams enter with six golfers on each team. The top two
teams in districts will move on to regionals and the team with the lowest
score wins. "I’ve never had four guys who can shoot so low," said head
coach Dan Wilkie, who indicated he is optimistic about his team’s chances.
