Go on 4-Game Win Streak;
Districts
Begin Tuesday, May 25

( On the strength
of some outstanding pitching and timely hitting, the varsity baseball team
has surged to 11-7 overall, 6-4 in the district, and has a four game winning
streak heading into the playoffs.
Currently the Mustangs
stand third place in the district, pending the outcome of tonight’s game
between district leaders Strasburg and
Bull Run Districts
start Tuesday, and if the Mustangs are second place they will play Thursday,
but if they are in third place, they will begin on Tuesday.
The Mustangs four
game winning streak began May 10 with a 7-4 victory over Woodlawn Baptist.
Sophomore pitcher Matthew Foley earned his first victory and junior catcher
William Straub led the hitting with two RBIs. Their winning ways
continued the next day against district rival On May 13 Finally, the last
game of the winning streak occurred May 14. The scoring was led by freshman
Jimmy Piscopo’s two hits, a run and an RBI. Sophomore pitcher John Schwangel
earned his second victory of the season in a 4-3 victory.
