Eagles’ Foul Shot Ends Mustangs’ Season 
In Last Six Seconds

Beating the Mustangs by one foul shot with six seconds left in regulation, the Clarke County Eagles beat the Mustangs 34-33 to advance to the District final game against the Strasburg Rams, last Wednesday night. Although winning all three previous quarters, the Mustangs were bombarded with foul trouble early in the second half and the eager Eagles reacted to the advantage. Sophomore; second-team all District Alex Pender was the first to foul out of the game, scoring four points and collecting five rebounds. Soon after, senior; first-team all district Becky Roa received her fifth, departing with 18 points. 

Before advancing to the semi-final game against Clarke, the Mustangs trounced on the Rappahannock Panthers winning (56-25) at the Stangs’ last home game of the season. In an all around effort, Roa scored 19 points, had 11 steals and six assists, Pender had 17 points and 14 rebounds, junior post Alison Van Pelt ended with 12 points, and freshman Kaitlin Freeman scored four points.

named to the All-District first team and

to the All-District second team last friday.
