The Cut of the Locks
Senior Donates Hair to Locks of Love

(February 5, 2004)

Senior Haley Chrisco wanted to help a child in need and also felt that "it was time for a change." So, last week she had 11 inches of her hair cut off so that it could be donated to Locks for Love, an organization that provides hairpieces for individuals who have lost their hair for medical reasons, especially because of chemotherapy. Haley has been growing her hair long for a number of years. The last time she had her hair seriously cut was in eighth grade. Last week she gathered her courage and met with a hair cutter who promptly trimmed off the 11 inches, though you can see that Haley still maintains fairly long locks as her hair had grown to nearly 20 inches before the donation.
