Marie Christine Ledu, left, a Parisian
radio journalist who specializes in educational issues, discussed her career
and challenges facing schools in France with Mason’s journalism class this
Friday. Ms. Ledu is the mother of Camille Christophel, right, who is a
foreign exchange student at Mason and a member of the Lasso Online staff.
Camille served as a translator when her mother—occasionally--needed assistance.
From her brief observations of American schools, Ms. Ledu noted that the
differences between French and American schools are profound. (Photo by
