George Mason’s second-year starter Beth Pyne made the First Team All District and was named Bull Run Player of the Year Saturday night following her Mustangs’ loss to Madison County in the District Tournament Championship. Her teammates, senior center Adrienne Thompson and junior forward Christina Sedney, made second team.

Pyne, a scrappy and highly competitive point guard, led the Mustangs in five categories for the season: points per game average (14.8); assists (4.1); steals (2.9); free throw shooting percentage (89%); and three point shooting. She was the coaches’ unanimous pick.

"I was so happy for all of our district players. Beth is one of the hardest working, most professional players I've ever coached and she got rewarded for all her dedication. Ever since we lost last year, Beth has done all the things, weight room, shooting, to become the best basketball player she could be," said Madison.

Thompson led the Mustangs in rebounds and Sedney was second in both scoring and rebounding.
