Senior Brian Coleman, a defenseman with the Washington Little Capitals, a midget major hockey team for 16 to 18 year olds, will soon embark on a week-long tournament championship quest in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Brian’s team earned the trip by winning the South Eastern District Championship last week. There are 11 districts in this hockey league and each district champ gets a bid to nationals. Before he gets to Colorado, Brian and his teammates will warm up for the championship by playing a tournament in Canada.

Coleman started skating when he was two and participated in travel hockey by the time he was seven. "I’ve learned more about life through playing hockey than I ever could in high school," said Brian.
