Mason’s boy’s basketball team has experienced a series of setbacks in its quest to defend last year’s district championship, including Tuesday night’s 74-48 loss at Strasburg.

Trailing 28-21 at half time, The Mustangs watched the game slip away from them in the final two periods as a slew of turnovers led to many easy scores for the Rams.

Senior Ben Griffin continued his consistent leadership with a strong all-around performance, tallying 10 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists.

He was helped out by 13 points and seven rebounds from fellow senior Darrell Marsh, as well as by eight points and seven rebounds from junior Bubba Olson.

Mason will face off with district rival Brentsville at home Friday night.
