The ship stopped at Georgetown,
Grand Cayman before going to Cozumel
We did not leave the ship because we have been to Grand Cayman
several times before
Cozumel
is an island off the coast of Mexico
During previous visits we took the ferry to the mainland for excursions |
This
time we stayed on the island |
It was a long walk along the pier
just to get to the entry
to the
visitors' center and shops
From
the shops we were told that it was just 5 minutes to the town
of San Miguel
We started to walk along the seashore and saw the excursion submarine
"Atlantis" |
In the distance we saw the lighthouse
and ferry terminal
We soon discovered that San Miguel was 5 MILES
from our ship
The 5 MINUTES we were told back in port meant by TAXI
Our first stop was a local bar which boasted "The Best Mojitos
in the Town"
The
town was ready for Christmas |
Originally
we were to dock here in San Miguel, but we were displaced by
the new NCL ship, the Beyond |
We
took a taxi for the 5 mile return trip to our ship |
Look
at the distance we had walked |
On
the left you can see the NCL Beyond in the port of San Miguel
The submarine "Atlantis" and lighthouse are also visible
