Our first look at Venice
The
airport bus took us across the causeway to the main bus station of
the city We could have taking the water bus to our hotel (on the Grand Canal at the Rialto Bridge) but since it was only 1/4 mile away, we decided to walk pulling our rolling luggage |

It
was nice walking through the streets BUT there are 400 bridges
in Venice over the canals and most do NOT have ramps. Yes, we carried our suitcases up and down over and over |

Finally
the Grand Canal and our hotel which is right at the Rialto Bridge
Quite a workout! Next time we take the water bus! |

rested, went shopping and revived with local beer and pizza |
