Saturday, George Mason hosted the annual Modern Foreign Language Tournament in which students from across the area participated in poem and prose recitations as well as original skit and oratory performances in French, Spanish, American Sign Language, Japanese and German. Organized by Spanish teacher Mrs. Suzanne Planas, over 200 students took part in the competition. Awarded for their high scores were Masonites Reid Mene, Elizabteh Fortenberry, Tiffany Huyser, Alex Casteuble, Anthony Andriana, Rossyln Kaddeche, Rachel Anderson, Mariam Alshagra, Kim Wilson, Elsa Lee, Johanna Garg, Melissa Benn, Katherine Morganegg, Anna Duning, Cynthia Campero, Abdul and Firdoos Mukati, Rachel Leahy and Reilly O’Hara.
