Just How Tall Is It, Anyway?

(May 21, 2007)

Students in Ms. Knoke’s geometry class used a clever way to determine the height of really tall things like light posts by measuring shorter objects, like themselves, then measuring the shorter objects’ shadows. Then, by measuring the shadow of the really tall object, they can tell indirectly how tall it is. From left, are juniors Juelie Chandler, Daniel Serrano, and Maryelena Clark. (Photo by Judy Knoke)
