Varsity Football
Mustangs Remain Perfect In Bull Run District,
Defeat
Eagles 22-0
By Charlotte Volpe (November 1, 2006)
In the heavy rain and wind last Friday night, on a night
when numerous high school football games in the region were postponed,
the Mustangs pounded Clarke County High
School 22-0, keeping their district record
perfect at 3-0.
The team completely ran over the Eagles’ defense, rushing
for a total of 286 yards. They were led by senior Eddie Huber’s 137 yards
and one touchdown. Sophomore Antoneo Folks
chipped in for 84 yards and a touchdown, and fellow sophomore Charlie
Mann provided the final score with his first varsity touchdown.
The Mustangs’ defense controlled the Eagles’ offense
from the beginning, allowing less than 100 yards of total offense and
forcing them to turn the ball over five times. Seniors Cody Reynolds
and Judah Chandler combined for three interceptions, and fellow senior
Ryan Larcamp led the defense in tackles.
The Mustangs’ next game is on Friday,
November 3 versus Manassas Park High School, which will be the
final home game of the season as well as Senior Night.
