Varsity Football
Mustangs Rolled Over by Bulldogs

by Charlotte Volpe (October 7, 2006)

The George Mason High School varsity football team was dominated from the beginning as they lost last night to Goochland High School, 45-0 at Moore Cadillac Stadium.

Goochland’s domination began almost immediately after the opening kickoff, scoring on their opening drive and never looking back. Highlights for George Mason were few and far between, but included rushes for first downs by senior running back Eddie Huber and sophomore running back John Mann. Junior quarterback Lonnie Millard also connected with senior tight end Kevin Montgomery. The Mustangs’ most exciting drive was their last of the game, late in the fourth quarter. They drove all the way down the field (aided by a defensive pass interference call against Goochland), but the drive was ended by a Goochland interception in the end zone on the last play of the game.

The Mustangs’ next game is on Friday, October 13, 2006 versus Madison County High School, which will be this year’s Homecoming game.
