Mustangs Repel Raiders, 3-1

In a challenging match against the J.E.B. Stuart Raiders Thursday night, the Lady Mustangs came out on top three games to one.

Mason dominated the first set, with senior Brittany Head as the defensive standout commanding her unique position of the Libero. The final score was 25-15.

The Raiders came back strong, leading the Mustangs 1-7 in the first few points. Mason picked up the pace, featuring several kills by senior Katie Mitchell and bringing the score to 17-17. The teams were neck and neck, and neither could get up by the two points needed to win until Mason scored, making the final score 28-26.

The Raiders took the third game, and though the Mustangs were close, they never could take the lead. It ended 21-25.

Finally, Mason took an early 9-1 command of the scoreboard in the fourth and final set, making the win official with the score of 25-15.
