And Now a Word from Our Founding Father
Opening Day Assembly Offers Creative Turn

As Masonites began their first day of school on Tuesday, they were welcomed not only by the usual faculty and SCA speakers, but also by Mr. George Mason himself, the long-overlooked Founding Father, who spoke using special effects a la the Conan O’Brien Show.  The “mystery”-themed assembly was surprisingly creative, thanks to a video filmed by junior Peter Davis and starring classmate Nathan Ward. The storyline was about the enigma of the first day of school, a daunting challenge to anyone who has spent the summer playing Final Fantasy XVII. The assembly also featured a slideshow of summer vacation photos by Dana Cazan and Ewan Oglethorpe, as well as welcoming remarks by Principal Snee, SCA President Will Stewart, and SCA Secretary Susanna Sullivan.
