9 Earn National Merit
Commended Status

The National Merit Scholarship Program announced this week that nine George Mason students are among the nation’s 34,000 “high performers” who are “being recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.” These nine commended students, together with the eight students named earlier as National Merit Semi-Finalists (see Lasso Online front page, September 13), brings to 17 the total number of seniors in the Class of 2007 who have been recognized by the NMSC. The nine students are, alphabetically: Kelly Casteel, John Langford, David Maher, Irene Morrison-Moncure, Emir Parrotta, Francesca Sales, Rachel Taylor, Andrew Walden, and Jesse Wilson.
