8 Named Merit Semifinalists

Eight students were named today as Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program by officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and by principal Bob Snee. Approximately 16,000 students were named to the honor across the nation. More than 1.4 million juniors in nearly 21,000 high schools entered the 2007 National Merit Program by taking the 2005 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The top qualifiers scored in the top one percent of test takers. Each of these students now can qualify for National Merit Finalist status and possible scholarships.
