Tragedy and Triumph as Boys
Lose 3-0; Girls Win 3-1

Last night, the fabled season of the boys’ varsity squad came to an end at the hands of Dogwood District champion Nelson County ,3-0 in the semi-finals of the Region B Tournament. The loss leaves the Mustangs one game short of the state tournament, the second year in a row they have failed to reach Radford. Pictured is junior Wesley Frank, who was named second-team all-district, as he dejectedly trudges off the field following the loss to the Governors. While the boys’ season ended on a tragic note, their lady counterparts will march on to the state tournament next week, following a 3-1 victory at Riverheads.
