Where’s the
Fire? Seniors Attend Prom Aboard An Antique Fire Truck
According
to Lasso Online’s weekly poll, the majority of the attendees
of last weekend’s junior/senior prom at the Clarendon Ballroom
seemed to have arrived by limo (62%), metro (13%), and car
(19%). According to this same poll, a few students (4%) arrived
by “other” transportation. The six seniors pictured here
certainly arrived in an unusual “other” as they rode in style
in an old, blazing red, fire truck. A teacher and owner of
the massive 1978 fire truck provided the unusual transportation,
complete with a driver in both the front and the back. He
rewarded senior Alina Kaye for
her achievement in her Emergency Medical Technician class
at the Arlington Career Center by taking her and five friends
to prom in the truck.
The ride may have not been smooth, nor fast, as its
maximum speed is about 57 miles per hour, but it certainly turned many heads. Alina Kaye and Natalie Intermaggio sit
on top of the ladder with seniors Xavier Alarcon, Anna Duning, Jimmy Piscopo and
Ryan Larcamp below. 5-22-07
