Wrap Up Rebound Week

Seven boys from grades 9-12 and four senior girls will vie for the coveted titles of “Mr. and Ms. Mason” on Friday in one of GM’s favorite events.  Last year, the pageant raised $1,050 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a figure that the SCA hopes to exceed tomorrow.  In the 7^th Annual Mr. Mason competition, freshman Sam Atkeson, sophomore Jack Cashin, junior Adam Gann, and seniors Andrew Walden, Will Stewart, Hunter Burkey, and Addison Blakemore will exhibit their varied and highly impressive talents, which will range from performing a male-female duet (as a solo, of course) to escaping from a sack while playing the piano.  In the 3^rd Annual Ms. Mason, seniors Mariam Alshagra, Elizabeth Fortenberry, Tiffany Huyser, and Margaret Lipman will also be wowing the crowd with talents that include a dance-off, comedic monologue, and an intense workout regime.  Contestants will also be judged on their bios, formal wear, and responses to interview questions.  Mr. and Ms. Mason will participate in the Memorial Day Parade and all contestants will receive prizes from local establishments.  Above, from left to right, are contestants Sam Atkeson, Elizabeth Fortenberry, and Will Stewart.
