Expert Shares Wisdom With
International Relations Students
(December 21, 2006)

Mr. Thomas P. Sheehy, staff director of the Subcommittee on International Terrorism and Nonproliferation of the Committee on International Relations in the U.S. House of Representatives, visited Ms. Holly Herrington’s International Relations class Wednesday to share his expertise. Mr. Sheehy covered a wide range of topics, including potential careers in public service, observations on terrorism, and his personal experiences in several countries, including Ghana. About Africa he said, “If you look at Africa, you see neatly cut borders and nicely arranged countries. In reality, tribes cross borders and some nations control parts of other nations. In short, the world is much more complex than it looks on the surface. Borders are just lines, nothing more.” (Photo and text by Eric Casteuble)
