Girls’ Varsity Soccer Mustangs Sting Hornets 3-1, Confront Eagles Again Today Win Secures Regional Final Championship

Freshman
forwards Abby Stroup and Alexia Patton battle in the attacking
half to win the ball from the Wilson Memorial defenders. The Mustangs
defeated the Hornets 3-1 in spite of several delays throughout
the game due to thunderstorms.The first goal was scored my freshman Mayassa
Chehata followed with two more by junior Katie Turner.The win secured a spot for the Mustangs in
the State Tournament down at Radford next weekend. The girls will
also face rivals ClarkeCounty tonight on their home field at 7 p.m. in the regional finals. (Photo by
