Varsity Football By Gregg Curtin ( Tonight’s game will be monumental for both teams, no matter the outcome. The Manassas Park Cougars have consistently dominated their opponents, with an 8-0 record this year. They still hold a 35 regular season game winning streak from last season. In addition, they’ve won 25 straight home games. Not to mention the Region B Division II State Championship that they won last year. But we have a formidable team as well. The George Mason Mustangs
have beaten every team in their district as of yet. They dominated the
Clarke County Eagles, a team which narrowly lost to the Cougars two weeks
ago. Mason hasn’t beaten There are uncanny similarities between
the teams as well. Both are 3-0 in the Bull-Run district. Both teams lost
some key senior players last year, but have benefited from an influx of
new talent this season. Both teams are looking for a spot in the Regional
playoffs. The winner of tonight’s game will be the team that has prepared
well, and plays with a desire to win. Tonight’s
game, it’s fair to say, will shape Mason football history. Kickoff is at Tell us what you think. E-mail lassogmhs@hotmail.com |
