Seen here in the throes of arduous competition,
juniors Fritz Langford (right) and David Maher place their robot
on the field before a match. The Robotics Team competed in the
Naval Academy's Chesapeake Regional Robotics Competition this
past weekend. The team came in 43rd of the 60 four
high schools in attendance at this highly competitive
competition. “All of the students involved gave their best to design, build,
and operate the robot, "Elephantus," said sponsor John Ballou. The
team grew significantly this year, from a core build team of roughly eight last
year to almost 25 students involved this year. Bjorn Westergard, president of
the Robotics Team, said, “The team would like to thank all of the mentors, especially
Mr. Ballou, sponsors, especially Aurora Flight Sciences, and parents that made
this edifying season possible.” (Photo by Elsa Lee)
