Three seniors have
earned the distinction of becoming National Merit Finalists. From left
to right are Alex Holachek, Maya Cough-Schultz, and Ryan Hinely with
principal Bob Snee and director of guidance Ken Siekman. To become
Merit Finalists meant that these students originally scored in the top
one-half of one percent in their state on the PSAT. Then the students
had to produce a similarly strong score on the SAT, complete an
application including an essay, maintain strong grades in a rigorous
course load, and have a recommendation from their counselor. These
three students may now be eligible for scholarships sponsored by
National Merit or the colleges to which they have been accepted. (Photo
