Theater Arts Students Named
‘Outstanding’ at Folger Performance
Sophomore
Joseph Kendra, costumed as Baptista, the father of Katherine
in Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew,” gets
into character. Kendra and his fellow theater arts students earned
multiple awards yesterday at the Folger Shakespeare Festival.
The entire cast received the Peggy O’Brien Award for outstanding
comedic acting. Other outstanding awards for excellence were
given to Katie Gordon and Andy Parker. A special award for ensemble
comedy went to K. K. Bracken and Nathan Ward. Recognition for
gallantry and stage presence went to Jeff Person. The theater
arts students were under the direction of Ms. Pam Ricker-Spicer.
