Junior forward Ashley Thompson and senior center Alex Pender have been instrumental in the success of the girls’ varsity basketball team whose 9-3 district record has put them in the regionals for the first time since 2002. The girls beat Strasburg 50-42 Wed. night and the boys won 54-45 last night. Both teams will play arch-nemesis Clarke County tonight. The girls play at 6, boys at 8. A win earns the teams the district tournament championship and a first seed in the regional tournament.
