Bi-lingual
and tri-lingual students served as guides and translators for 17
educators from Guangxi Province in China who visited Mason yesterday to
learn about educational practices and ideas. Most of the visitors were
principals of successful schools in China and visited Mason partly
because of its International Baccalaureate program and because of its
substantial reputation in international education. Principal Bob Snee,
IB coordinator Brian Dickson, and guidance director Ken Siekman
addressed the educators who then had lunch in the TLC. Above, in the
center of the visitors, are the fie students, fluent in Mandarin or
Cantonese, or both, who acted as hosts: Bonnie Shum, Wiena Xuan, Di Wu,
Laura Shu, and Laura Lin. (Photo by Emily Sanders)
