Eight of the fifteen member George Mason Running club, competing in 2 relay teams, successfully completed the Frederick (MD) marathon, placing 4^th and 7^th in a field of 21 teams.  Pictured above are (front row) Ms. Tooze, Ms. Carvalho, Ms. Jayson, (top row) Ms. Oppmann, Ms. Hulke, Ms. Raeder, Ms. Mears and Ms. Backofen.  Since being organized by coach  Carvalho, a veteran marathoner, club members have completed a variety of distance races from 5K to 26.2 miles.  Next on their schedule is the Capital Hill Classic 10K on May 21^st followed by the Lawyers Have Heart 10K on June 10^th.  (Photo by Michael Hoover)
