Madison County barely beat the Mustangs 25-21 Thursday night. The game took on a special excitement when the Mason almost caught up with the Mountaineers in the fourth quarter.

During the comeback, however, point guard Rachel Kazman sustained an injury; nevertheless, she scored eight points. Eighth grader Abby Stroup also scored eight, mostly in the first half.

Stroup, along with Hanah Baumgardner, Britney Schumann, Rebecca Jackson, and Kate Root were the starters for the game.

"We got down early, but I was very pleased with how we fought back to get within four points at the end of the game, said head coach Kuder.
