News updated 9/10/04	*Mason’s Last Year as 9-12 High School* 60 New Students, 25 New Staff Members Are Signs of Mason’s Population Explosion (full story) After running a course through the auditorium cheered on by the 660-strong student body, the wreath-crowned Mustang Sally in true Olympic style handed over the Mason Olympic torch to student body president Alex Nette at the Opening Day Assembly last Tuesday. This assembly was full of the new and old, with a new raffle, and the traditional concert by the teachers, who this year sang and danced to "It's Been a Hard Day's Night" by the Beatles. The festivities at the assembly kicked off what Principle Bob Snee called, "a historic year for George Mason High School." At next year's assembly, students from the 8th grade will join students from grades 9-12 for the first time in the 50+ year history of Falls Church City Schools. 9/10/04	Candid Campus updated 6/16/04
