Spring Play Opens Tonight
‘Flowers for Algernon’ Aims to Test
Audience’s Empathy, Perceptions    (full story)
Lauren Breeden (left) and Dan Burkey rehearse a scene from the Theatre Department's spring production of Flowers for Algernon, which opens tonight, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 pm in the George Mason auditorium. The play centers on a mentally handicapped man named Charlie Gordon (played by Burkey) whose perceptions of the world are altered after an experimental surgery. The ensemble piece combines traditional dramatic scenes with film and animation and utilized the talents of GM's actors, stage crew, and techonology students. Admission to Flowers for Algernon is $6 for adults and $5 for students. (Photo by Olivia Farrow)    5/26/05
