IBO President
Visits Mason; Discusses Program with Students, Staff Seniors
Rabita Aziz, left, Alex Robertson, right, and junior Emma O’Hara acted
as tour guides for Dr. Monique Seefried, president of the International
Baccalaureate Organization, who visited George Mason High School, one
of the oldest IB schools in North America, for the first time last
week. She visited several IB classes and spoke to the students about
their opinions on the IB program. The students also shared their ideas
concerning the IB program here at George Mason. She also met with
Mr. Lou Olom, the “grandfather” of the IB program, who introduced IB to
George Mason in 1981, and discussed the current state of the IB
program, which has over 1,700 schools worldwide. (Photo by Sara Sugrue)
