Would you Like Cream in Your Coffee?
Tempo Inaugurates Early AM Bake Sale
Bagels and cream cheese, Starbucks coffee and treats, sugar cookies, brownies, pumpkin bread, coffee cake and banana bread galore… these are a few of Tempo’s favorite treats. Bright and early this morning Tempo staff members were busy setting up for the first-ever morning bake sale. The bake sale was held to raise money to publish the student literary magazine that will come out in late spring. Starbucks coffee company was generous enough to donate all of its day-old food for the bake sale. In addition, several magazine staff members baked their own desserts. Although the sale went very well and a great many customers bought treats, the staff only managed to break even, but according to member Nora Hemphill, “We would have made at least $45 more if we had only purchased one container of coffee, instead of two.” According to senior and Tempo staff member Stephanie Peters, “The Tempo bake sale looks like it’s going great, there are a lot of people enjoying sugar cookies and Starbucks coffee.” Above, a mix of Mason middle school and high school students enjoy a breakfast snack before their first class.
