News updated 1/14/05	*It’s All About the Kids* Mason’s Tsunami Relief Fund Raises $25,000 to Save the Children These happy children participated in the many crafts that were available yesterday in the massive fundraising efforts put together by scores of Mason students and teachers to benefit the children in 12 South Asian countries who have suffered as a result of the tsunamis that devastated their families. At the end of Saturday night’s benefit concert, Mason principal Bob Snee announced that the school’s efforts had exceeded its goal of $20,000 and that just over $25,000 had been raised through a series of fundraisers planned by students and teachers. All money raised will be donated to the Save the Children foundation. As successful as this campaign has been, the school hopes to continue raising funds by sponsoring at least one fundraiser each month for the remainder of the school year.
