‘Godsend’: Careful What You Wish For
By
Adrian Rumingan (May 27, 2004)
Godsend,
directed y Nick Hamm,
is the most chilling thriller of the summer. Adam Duncan, played by Cameron
Bright, is a little boy who is killed by a car on his eighth birthday.
Adam’s parents Paul (Greg Kinnear) and
Jessie Duncan (Rebecca RomijnStamos)
are convinced by a lunatic scientist Dr. Richard Wells (Robert DeNiro)
that he can bring their son Adam back by cloning a new child using a lock
of Adam’s hair.
When
they agreed to bring their child back, the parents did so thinking that
the new child would be their same sweet little boy, not a psychotic killer.
Is the new child their son or is he another being totally unlike the original?
While
some critics have found this movie poor, I find that this movie keeps you
on the edge of your seat. The movie is terrifying because of the frightening
little boy who wants to kill his parents with a desirable passion. The
movie is taken from Stephen King’s “PetCemetery.”
The film gives you a big wake-up call because of the studies of cloning
people and the fact that this one day could actually occur.
Should
man play God? Should we really play with God’s most precious gift, life,
to us? No! But you can find out what could happen in this menacing thriller.
