Seniors Join with Juniors
To Donate 57 Pints of Blood

Blood Drive this year at the makeshift donation center at the UVA/VaTech
Grad Center Tuesday. Griffin and Hatfield were two of 70 students who participated
by donating their blood, and 18 volunteers who donated their time at the
blood drive, which raised 57 pints of much needed blood. Juniors and seniors,
17 years of age and above, were taking time away from class throughout
the day in order to raise the anticipated 63 pints, for a grand total of
131 pints raised by the senior class this year. Senior class advisor Michael
Hoover said, "I'm thrilled with the turnout, the fabulous behavior of the
students donating and volunteering. I would also like to thank the parents
who volunteered and the fantastic organizational skills of Christina Heupel."
