For the Eagle
Scouts
Nette Bridges the Gap
Junior Alex Nette puts the final touches on the new five-step
staircase leading from the Haycock parking lot, to the senior lot. Nette,
along with fellow juniors Chad O'Hara, Nathan Ballou, John Sullivan, and
Andrew Roller, completed the much-needed stairs, which Principal Bob Snee
has wanted for many years, in a mere 9 hours. "The steps cost a total of
$3,000 to make, although it would have cost $10,000 if it were professionally
built," estimated Nette, who designed the staircase. Nette was motivated
to build this long-awaited staircase to earn an Eagle Scouts badge, so
he can "get into college." The project was supervised by Nette's father,
who is a construction manager for a major company. Principal Snee is very
grateful: "Thank goodness we finally got that staircase built. I'm very
please, and I will always think of Alex Nette when I ascend and descend
those steps." (Photo by: Mett Meyer)
