Agnes Meyer Award
Peloquin, Chincheck Nominated
For Outstanding Honor
Ms. Tammy Chincheck and Mr. Richard Peloquin, both of the
social studies department, were nominated this week for The Washington
Post Agnes Meyer Award for Falls Church. The award recognizes outstanding
teachers and will be presented in March. Six Falls Church teachers were
nominated this year by groups of students, parents, and/or fellow teachers.
Chincheck and Peloquin were nominated in the high school. Mr. Andy Taylor,
also in the social studies department and who is retiring at the end of
this year, was nominated in the middle school. Emily Florence and Lisa
Allan at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and Jennifer Fox-Mahoney at
Mt. Daniel were also nominated. The recipient of the award will be announced
during the week of February 16. Peloquin has taught for 28 years including
both high school and college, 14 of those here at Mason. He teaches Pre-IB
Government and IBH World History. Chincheck has taught for 18 years, eight
here at Mason. She teaches US History and IB Americas. (Photo by Andrea
