Mustangs Corral Panthers 6-1;
Record Grows to 9-2

The Lady Mustangs stampeded through Rappanhannock County’s defense (6-1) last Friday on Mason’s home turf. The win brings Mason’s record to 9-2, the only losses to arch rival Brentsville, who Mason hopes to meet in the Bull Run district finals.
 

In Friday’s game. Mustang junior forward Becky Roa earned her second hat trick of the season. Two of her goals came in the first half and the third happened in the second half.

The other three goals were scored by sophomore midfielder Rachel Sweeney, junior Alison Penland, and sophomore midfielder Christina Kirkbride. at a sharp angle in front of the 18-yard line.

Minutes after Roa’s first goal of the game, Sweeney scored at a sharp angle in front of the 18-yard line.

Penland came on a breakaway opportunity half way through the first half to put the Mustangs up 4-0 going into the second half. 

The third goal happened in the second half by sophomore midfielder Christina Kirkbride. The Mustangs’ record stands at 9-2
