Softball
Mustangs Welcome 2 Maine Teams,
Then Teach Them a Lesson

The JV and varsity softball teams welcomed two teams from Maine that had come to spend their spring break in the Washington, DC, area. Due to weather impediments in their home state, the Maine players had not had the opportunity to do much practicing, so the GM softball teams welcomed them for a match on Wednesday.

Fort Fairfield and Jonesport Beals High Schools played a team made up of a mix of varsity and JV players. Mason beat the Jonesport Beals Royals (15-7) and the Fairfield Tigers (16-6). After the game, the players of all teams quelled their appetites at the Mustang Café with pizza and dessert.

One Mason coach said, "We want to build unity: to teach them how to open up to others, and have good sportsmanship."
