The George Mason varsity volleyball team fell to Strasburg 2-0 last night on the Mustangs' home court. Strasburg managed to make it past many of the Mustang players, causing a 15-3 score in the first match.

The second round consisted of fast and hard spikes that led to the 15-10 score resulting in a Strasburg victory. As Strasburg reached 14 points the Mustangs made a 4-point comeback, however it was not quite enough. Strasburg finished off the Mustangs with a hit to a hole that the Mustangs left unguarded. The loss to Strasburg, the second in a week to the Rams, brings the Mustangs' record to 1-5 in the Bull Run district.

The Mustangs had a few powerful moments during the game such as Rwaida Al-Shagra’s spike in the first match followed by several saves from Laura Straub. "We weren't all there tonight, if you know what I mean. We lacked communication which is what we are in the process of fixing, and also we were playing an experienced team," said senior Laura Straub after tonight's game.

The Mustangs are again at home tonight against Clarke County, JV at 6:30, varsity at 7:30.
