Mason’s varsity volleyball team beat Manassas Park on Tuesday night here in "the pit." Outstanding volleys and blocks by seniors Laura Straub and Aysha Twose, and by juniors Jenny Moore and Rwaida Al-Shagra were the main reason for a quick, painless game.
 

During the first and second rounds, some paint chips fell down from the ceiling above due to the Cougars’ tendency to whack the ball straight up into the ceiling. The first round ended 15-0, with Mason marching proud to the other end of the gym for the second match.

During the final points of the second game, senior Aysha Twose served up a storm that Manassas wasn’t prepared for, and no one could forget senior Christine Hillegass’s 7 points in-a-row serving binge. Manassas didn’t seem to put up much of a fight except for the seven points scored by the Cougars as their last hoorah.
