Matrix Reloaded: Best, Most
Complicated Film This Year

By Steven Gould (June 4, 2003)

The Matrix Reloaded is one of the best movies of this year. With the long lasting effects that the first Matrix installment had on us, Reloaded is here to expand on it. It takes a while for you to understand this movie however, but that’s why you should go see it twice!

For me to understand The Matrix I had to watch it four times, and even after that I only understood a small fraction of it. With all of the special effects and an amazing story line you literally feel like you are trapped in a fake world being controlled by machines.

The Reloaded story takes off where the first one ended. There aren’t that many new things added to this movie except for the FX there is not a lot of new details you need to pay attention to. Just make sure you watched the first movie before seeing this one so you remember what the whole saga is about.

The movie begins with Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) discussing with his crew members, Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), and Neo (Keanu Reeves) what they have to do to stop an army of machines from reaching their home. Soon Neo gets a message from The Oracle (Gloria Foster) telling them that in order for them to stop the machines Neo must find someone known as The Keymaker (Randall Duk Kim) who can help him find the one behind The Matrix.

There was one thing that I wanted them to add in, which was a huge fight scene between the Twins (Adrian Rayment & Neil Rayment) and Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving). That could have made the movie so much better, but I guess watching Neo fight a million Agent Smiths was good enough.

Another thing about this movie was you have no patience for all the talking mumbo-jumbo. Whenever you see Neo in a room with someone else and all they’re doing is talking, all you want to do is scream "Oh just kung-fo him and then get the information out of him!" This movie was amazing and I can’t wait to see it again and the third one as well. I give this movie a well-deserved 8 out of 10.
