Student Body Elects New SCA Officers

By Steven Gould (April 12, 2003)

Juniors Kaitlin Bottock and Teddy Smith and sophomore Alex Nette have been elected the new SCA officers for next year. Bottock, who has been sophomore class president and vice president of the SCA, will assume the office of president next year. Bottock ran unopposed.

The elections were held last Friday, but because tallies were not complete, results were not announced until Monday.

New vice president Smith has no past class rank, but said he had "attended all the SCA meetings for the past three years." Smith's opponent was Arya Namboordiri.

Nette, who is now president of the sophomore class, will be the new SCA secretary.

Both Bottock and Smith agree that one thing that needs to be improved is the social activities; and that "student involvement cam make the student activities more exciting and enjoyable." Nette expressed in interest in attempting to lower the amount of homework assigned.
