Retirement Celebration
Sheedy, Nolan Honored for Years
Of Service, Dedication to GM
Mr. Frank Sheedy, above with his wife Susan, and Ms. Gail
Nolan, above with principal Bob Snee, were honored at a retirement ceremony
at George Mason last Thursday. Printing teacher Sheedy joined George Mason
in 1980 and is lovingly referred to simply as “Frank” by his students.
Principal Bob Snee called Sheedy “simply extraordinary” and said he was
“a grand prize winner in our hearts and minds.” Nolan came to Mason in
1986 and taught social studies, anthropology, and psychology. Snee said
to Nolan, “You were a stalwart in the effort to challenge students appropriately
and to challenge colleagues to do the same.” He praised her for “turning
the Model United Nations Club into a Virginia and East Coast powerhouse.”
