Lasso Online
By Juliana Pearson (October 3, 2001)

Dear Friends,

Lasso, the school newspaper that George Mason students know and love, is undergoing a make over. Instead of issuing a printed paper, Lasso is pioneering into the New World of online publishing. The staff is excited because an online paper will give reporters the chance to update the news more frequently. If a reader, for example, wants to know the margin of victory that George Mason gained during last night’s basketball game, the story will be on the web before any other publisher can rush to the printing presses. Busy students, who would otherwise have to sit down at their kitchen table and actually take precious time to read a print newspaper can catch the scoop between checking their E-mail and typing that dreaded history assignment.

The new Lasso Online is sponsored jointly by Mr. Hoover and Mrs. Backofen, the school’s English and technology gurus, respectively. The Editor in Chief is Juliana Pearson. The staff meets every Thursday after school in room B106. Interested in writing? Have a knack for editing? Lasso Online is still searching for diligent reporters etc. Hop on board!
