Annual Senior Class Charity Fashion Show to Open Tonight

By Liz Twentyman (Feb. 28, 2002)

Opening tonight is "Lights on Broadway," the annual senior class fashion show for charity. This fashion show, which is in its fourth year, raises money for the Falls Church Winter Shelter. The Falls Church Winter Shelter provides a warm place to stay for families that are down on their luck and others who have no place to stay or get out of the cold. The fashion show is one of several activities included in the "Senior Give-Back Program," which is designed to help better the school and community.

Over forty seniors will model clothes furnished by six local stores – Bloomingdale’s, Master’s Tuxedo, Esprit, Delia’s, Wet Seal, and Britches (in Ballston). The outfits will range from club wear to formal. Seniors Dena Adriance and Galen Messing have also designed their own line of clothing, to be introduced at the fashion show. Senior Michael Burgos’s band, Your Mom, will provide entertainment between the acts, and Kat Arias has choreographed a dance number.

The fashion show has been planned by seniors Kat Arias, Emily Dittmar, and Claire Montgomery, who have been assisted by Beth Pyne and senior class sponsor Mr. Hoover. Frank Marino is directing the show.

"I’m proud that the seniors have put so much time and effort into raising funds for local charity, and that everyone has had so much fun. Something about this show has energy," Mr. Hoover said.

The fashion show runs Thursday and Friday nights at 7:30 pm.
