I can't say enough about Michael Hoover.
Mr. Hoover had an eye for those usually fringe-dwelling,
inward-looking kids who would make good writers. All sorts of writers:
poets, journalists, novelists. Because of his unfailing belief in
the merit of my poems, I was able to muster the confidence to get
some published in respectable magazines in the last months of my
senior year -- which was the best, if still inadequate, gift I could
have given him in return for the very considerable gift of teaching,
caring, and encouragement that he had given me.
Let me simply say Thank you. You have meant so
much to so many.
